Dear Client,

Client agreement where there is a PRACTICAL DRIVING TEST booked

I confirm that your upcoming Driving test is now in my diary and understand it is your intention for me to accompany you to test on that day and to use my car for the test.

Lessons must be taken weekly and consistently to work on being above the test standard, as test approaches, I would recommend taking longer lessons or extra lessons as we prepare.

To be test standard, every element of driving MUST be fully independent, and I should be giving you no support or taking control of the vehicle in the lessons up to the test. As your instructor, I will do all I can to help you achieve this standard, however, the end result relies completely upon yourself and how you perform on the day of the test.

The DVSA will have been sending you emails regularly – PLEASE READ THEM FULLY and act strictly on what they advise, every element of your drive must be completely independent with no serious or dangerous faults and very few – (Ideally NO) driver faults.

For more details please visit the DVSA's Ready to Pass Campaign by clicking HERE.

The DVSA are very strict on instructors presenting clients who are only at this level, and insist we conduct mock tests prior to your practical test. If ANY serious or Dangerous faults are made on the mock tests, and / or there are a significant number of Driver faults I AM NOT ALLOWED TO TAKE YOU TO TEST – the test must be moved.

The DVSA are quite clear on this within the emails you will have received from them, and I am obliged to make you aware that if you do not reach the required mock test standard, I will be unable to take you to test until you are independent.

PREPARE:

Please revise heavily using the resources I have provided you free – read “Driving The Essential Skills” book, which you were advised to purchase at the beginning of lessons. Where possible, take extra practice with a parent or family member, anyone who is a qualified driver aged 21 or over with 3 years or more driving experience may accompany you, providing you have learner insurance.

Nerves:

It is natural you will feel anxious about your test, anxiety sometimes comes from uncertainty, so please re read theory questions, read your lesson notes on the My Drivetime app and focus on areas that I have highlighted need work and if you do feel anxious, then Calms, Rescue Remedy and other over the counter natural remedies can help take the edge off your butterflies!

There are also some great breathing exercises available on the NHS website – this is accessible through the My Drivetime app Resources section. Click on “Dealing with Anxiety” or click HERE.

I have every confidence you will be ready for Practical test by the planned date, and you will work hard between lessons to revise and prepare for your test. By continuing lessons, you are agreeing to the above and should you require any clarification or have any questions, please let me know.
